Examination
and promotion
Regular periodical tests will be held in addition to the terminal examinations in September and March. Promotion will depend on these examinations.
Pupils absent from an examination for any reason are not re-examined and those absent without any grave reason will be considered as failed. In case of illness, a doctor's certificate will have to be produced. A medical certificate, however, does not guarantee promotion.
No candidate will be allowed to appear in any of the examinations unless all school dues have been paid in full.
Willful breach of any of the regulations for the conduct of examination is punishable with expulsion from the examination.
The pupils are strictly forbidden to borrow stationery from their neighbour in the examination hall. Copying and consulting and carrying answer slips to the examination hall will be liable for punishment, such as detention in the class.
85% attendance is essential for appearing in the final exam.
Promotion to a higher class depends on:
Regularity in attendance
Regularity and quality of day-to-day participation in the class
Opinion of Subject teachers
Written work and projects assigned by the subject teachers
Clear pass in all the subjects in all the exams
The result declared at the end of the year is final in all cases and will not be re-considered.
A pupil who fails twice in the same class will have to discontinue his/her studies in the school.
The progress report is shown to parents after each test and examination. Parents are requested to sign the report and return it to the class teacher.
